Who knows me knows I love bags... well it's more kind of an addiction since I've met Swoon Sewing Patterns!   The patterns are all so well written and clear, a design full of creativity and when finished, the bags look so professional!
So here it is the newest pattern: Bonnie!

Ain't she gorgeous? I love every single detail about her...
She's a slouchy hobo-style bag with a recessed zipper main closure and exterior double welt pocket. I just love how the welt pocket gives her an awesome look. Seems like she's just got out of the store! It's placed in the perfect place to keep keys, cellphone or whatever you need to keep close. Here's a close up!

I also add an inside pocket, just because they are always useful! For next time I will make a zippered one.

The bottom is oval shaped which allows lots of room. She's about 12" tall, 14" wide on top and 6" deep.
Bonnie is perfect to display two different fabric prints on the exterior, or instead of color blocking you can use the same print with contrasting top stitching.I used faux leather and a digital print fabric that looked like a journal paper.

To make Bonnie you will need:
  • 1/2 yard 44" quilting weight Main Exterior fabric
  • 1/2" yard quilting weight basic exterior fabric
  • 2/3" quilting weight lining fabric
  • 2.5" yards woven fusible interfacing (ex Pellon Shape flex 101)
  • 1/4" heavy sew in stabilizer (Pellon Peltex 70)
  • 15" or longer main compartment zipper
  • 7" welt pocket zipper (optional)
  • Two 1.5" O-rings or 1" rectangle loops
And pattern!

She's a pretty quick sew! And in a few hours she will be ready to go!
